Profound Naturals is a sole trader business based in Australia. This policy sets out how personal information is collected, used, stored, and disclosed in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. By using this website you agree to the terms of this policy.

1. Information Collected

Personal information is only collected when you actively provide it. Depending on how you interact with the site, this may include:

• Purchases - name, email address, and delivery address
• Gift cards - sender name, recipient name, and recipient email address
• Newsletter subscriptions - email address
• Back-in-stock notifications - email address and product of interest
• Testimonials - name, email address, and review content

No customer accounts are created. No passwords are stored. Payment card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure environment and are never transmitted to or stored by Profound Naturals.

2. Purpose of Collection

Information is collected for the primary purpose for which it was provided, including:

• Processing and fulfilling orders, including dispatch notifications and tracking
• Delivering gift card codes to nominated recipients
• Sending requested back-in-stock notifications
• Sending the newsletter to subscribers (unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email)
• Publishing approved testimonials on the website
• Responding to customer enquiries

Personal information will not be used for any secondary purpose without consent, unless permitted by law.

3. Disclosure to Third Parties

Personal information is not sold, rented, or shared for marketing purposes. It is disclosed only to the following service providers, strictly to the extent necessary to operate the site:

• Stripe - payment processing. Stripe receives order value and billing details to process transactions. Stripe's privacy policy applies to data it holds: stripe.com/privacy
• Australia Post - name and shipping address are shared solely for order delivery
• Email service provider - transactional email delivery (order confirmations, notifications, gift card codes)
• Website hosting - the site is hosted on Netlify, which may log technical metadata including IP addresses and request timestamps for security and operational purposes
• Google Fonts - typefaces are loaded from Google's servers. Google may log connection metadata. No personal data submitted on this site is shared with Google

No advertising networks, social media pixels, or analytics platforms are used on this site.

4. Cookies & Tracking

This site does not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics. Anonymous, cookie-free page-view counting (GoatCounter) may be used to measure site traffic - it stores no cookies and collects no personal information. Stripe may set strictly functional cookies during the checkout process for fraud detection and session integrity.

5. Data Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are in place to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. These include HTTPS encryption across the entire site, server-side handling of all sensitive operations, and no storage of payment data. No internet transmission can be guaranteed absolutely secure; reasonable efforts are made to protect all information held.

6. Data Retention

Order records are retained for a minimum of five years to meet Australian taxation and business record-keeping obligations. Subscription and notification email addresses are held until removal is requested. Testimonials are held until a request for removal is received.

7. Access, Correction & Deletion

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to request access to personal information held about you, to request correction of inaccurate information, and to request deletion where retention is no longer required by law.
