Thank you for finding your way here. This is the Journal - a quiet corner of the site where I can write about the things that do not fit on a product page.

A bottle can tell you what an oil is and what it costs. It cannot tell you that boronia has to be picked in a two-week window, or that the rose in a blend was hand-cut before dawn, or why I keep certain oils in the fridge and not others. Those are the stories I love, and this is where I will keep them.

You will find a few different kinds of writing here as it grows. There are notes on the history behind each botanical, profiles of the Australian natives at the heart of the range, pieces on where materials come from, and plain, practical guides to getting the most from what you buy. And here, in Blogs, the more personal things - new releases, what is happening at the bench, and the occasional thing I have learned the hard way.

My name is Jack, and Profound Naturals started with a problem of my own.

Synthetic products did not agree with me. I kept running into the same thing - I would use something, and end up worse off than before I started. It took me longer than it should have to wonder whether the products themselves were the issue rather than something I just had to put up with.

So I started swapping them out for natural alternatives, one at a time. They suited me. That is the whole origin story, and it is not a dramatic one - no grand plan, just a change that worked for me and left me curious about what else was out there. The more I learned about where these materials actually come from, the more that curiosity took over.

That is what this Journal is for. I am not a chemist or a botanist. I am someone who went looking, found the natural side of this world far more interesting than I expected, and wanted somewhere to put what I picked up along the way.

New notes will appear each season. If you would like to hear when they do, the best way is to join the list. I am glad you are here.
